Last week my mom and I headed over to MoMA to see the Marcel Broodthaers A Retrospective exhibit before it opened for the public. Member events are always so much fun to go to. I love going to the museum at night and see the latest exhibit opening. Of course there's the open bar, too.
We had done light research about the exhibit before going, and were a bit skeptical if we would like it. The exhibit turned out to be better than expected. It is certainly different, but interesting. Lots of egg shells and muscles. My mom was convinced the egg shells spoke to the fragility of life, but I'm not so sure that's what the artist was going for. After walking the exhibit we decided to hang around and enjoy the night with a glass of wine in the atrium. It was such a fun night. We chatted with many people asking them their take on the exhibit. It was interesting to hear what everyone thought of the exhibit. I couldn't say it's my favorite exhibit I've seen at a MoMA event, but it was one of my favorite nights going to one of these events. Mom and I had a lot of fun with each other and chatting with people new.
