Travel: U.S. Road Trip with my sisters

As an archaeologist my sister works in the field on digs.  She specializes in American archaeology.  Two summers ago she researched and worked on a dig in Colorado.  My little sister and I flew out to Colorado in August, and we all road tripped back to New York.  I loved seeing the landscape as we drove through all of the different states.  It was so beautiful.  Living in New York I sometimes forget how large the United States is, and how little of it I have explored.

We camped out one night in the Rocky Mountains, and it rained pretty much the whole time we were there.  I woke at around five am to realize I was sleeping on a puddle!  After waking up I decided I had had enough rain, and would go hangout in the car until my sisters were ready to get up, too.  You can see in the picture below that the once full campsite has emptied out.  Everyone else woke up early and headed out. Ha!

Despite the rain the Rocky Mountains were beautiful.  We had fun exploring different areas of the mountains as we drove to our next destination.  Here are some photos taken in the Rocky Mountains and on the road.  I took these photos on my dad's old film camera, a Canon AE-1.  I love using his camera.  The photos come out so differently than if I were to use my digital Canon camera.
